With a steady downpour falling from the sky, it looked like a miserable day for the Ottawa golf professionals participating in their BPG (Boutiques Pro-Golf) Spring Open at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Dunrobin, Ontario on Monday, June 8th. It was the first official stroke play event of the year on the Flagstick.com Players Tour.
We would like to think that PGA of Ottawa Honorary Director and CTV weather analyst JJ Clark might have had something to do with the weather as the rain let up shortly after noon.
First off the tee were the senior professionals and they played their front nines in the rain. After a 4 over par front nine of 40, Cedarhill's Greg White shot 4 under par on the back and finished in first place with a round of 72. Following him were the Ottawa Hunt's Dave Kalil with a 75 and Golf-O-Max's John Watson with a 78.
When asked about his day, Greg White commented, "I enjoyed the company of Mike Kennedy and Daniel Patry. I wasn't great on the front nine but…
