Team Canada member Maddie Szeryk, who grew up in Texas but has family ties to London, Ontario, earned her first NCAA collegiate golf title of the season on March 15.
Szeryk led her Texas A&M team to victory at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in KANE'OHE, Hawaii. The team posted a 5 under par total to win by 15 strokes.
Szeryk set a tournament record on her way to an individual win. She recorded rounds of 67, 71, and 69 for a -9 total on the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course
"It is very hard to win a college golf tournament," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "I am so proud of our team, and am excited that their hard work has paid off in the form of a tournament victory."
This was Szeryk's first individual win of the season. She earned her first NCAA win last year. The Junior has had three other top ten finishes in the 2016-2017 school year.
