We have a neat feature coming up in the September issue of Flagstick. It is the story of David Stockwell who has played golf in 47 countries at more than 500 courses.
He will soon complete the playing of all the 66 "Royal" designated courses (the real ones) around the world.
How many courses do you think you have played?

wow thats a list!!! i would guess i am around 20-30 but ill have to look it up and post back....now you have me wondering!!

That's a bunch of courses. Now I'll have to compile a list in the next little while to see where I sit but I know it's no where near that number.
FYI...Mr. Stockwell was working in external affairs and served as an ambassador in various countries - his work situation brought him to many of those countries although he pursued playing many courses on his own time. Country 48 (Bhutan) is on tap for September.
You guys will love his story.

Damn, just went through my list that I have when I put my scores into the computer plus some others that I've played and surprised myself by coming up with 92 different courses. Until looking at the list I didn't figure I'd played more than 40 or 50 different ones but I don't think this is too bad. Unfortunately they're only in Canada and the US.
Very neat story, looking forward to it. I'll have to start creating my list - I would guess somewhere north of 75 but across only 3 countries.
Ok wow that was an eye-opener. I 've played 76 local (Ottawa and surrounding area) alone and 62 in the USA (9 different states). Add in rest of Canada and 1 overseas and I'm at 156. Never would have thought that I had played well over 100 different courses.

That's a pretty good list. Kind of surprising when you start to add them up!
