The thread can be found at this LINK
Join in for a discussion with Don Irving of Artisan Golf in Ottawa, Ontario as we discuss the TrackMan Combine, Golf Equipment Fitting, and all sorts of related topics.
In 2013 Irving became the first person in the world to earn TrackMan University Master status based on an equipment related topic and the first in Master in Canada.
A TrackMan owner since 2011, Irving's study on Driver Lengths where he collected data using the TrackMan radar-based launch monitor was groundbreaking.
Among the services he provides at his award-winning club fitting studio, which opened in 2003, is the TrackMan Combine, a 60 shot test where a player is able to assess their ability from various yardages.
A number of moderators from the Flagstick Forum recently experienced the process. Their feedback can be found in this section of the Forum.
A long-time author of Clubmaker's Classroom for Flagstick Golf Magazine, Irving has been an award winning club maker, recognized by leading organizations from around the world.
If you have questions about the TrackMan combine, club fitting, or club making, then you'll want to…

Hope you guys enjoy this one. Don is a great guy with a lot of knowledge, having done the combine with him I can attest that it is a very useful tools to understanding your strengths and weakness in your game. Unfortunately I will not be able to take part in this one as I have a concert this night with my wife.
Enjoy

Don, what would you say is the biggest mistake golfers make when getting fit for clubs, particularly the driver?
I would say that driver length is often overlooked. The individual golfer's ability to find the center of the face is often dictated by the length of the club. I think people are afraid that if they go to a shorter driver, they will lose club head speed and therefore distance. It is possible that the club head speed may drop, but it is not a drastic drop and if a lower club head speed allows better impact the tradeoff is well worth it.
