Lots of discussion these days about product cycles.  Manufacturers stay busy producing new models but users should obviously not feel compelled to buy every single one of them.

That said...what is your product cycle on drivers?

How often do you feel the need to buy a new one and what is usually behind you feeling the need to upgrade?

I don't know why I keep getting new drivers and clubs in general.  It seems like when I try the new ones out there is always something that gets me to buy.  Last driver was so much straighter with the adjustments and also gained some distance which I need as I get older.  I think this one might last another summer in the bag as long as I don't try something at a demo day.  Laugh  I've found that the face on my irons had been getting very roughed up although the ones I'm playing now aren't bad.  I bought some irons from a friend and they still had the wrap on them but looking back at the price I have a feeling they were a clone.  grrrrr!!!!   Hybrids haven't been getting changed quite as often as I just haven't found any that are near as good as what I have.  Putters well that's another story although the one in the bag has lasted over a year.  Kiss

For me the driver has been something I change around once a season , although I've had a few that I've held onto for longer than that , and a few that have not made it past the range session .

I tend to pick up used drivers , obviously the price point Is much more favorable if your changing them every 1or 2 years .

I'm also working on some swing changes which is one reason why I haven't gone for a driver fitting recently , as a fitter once told me , he can fit me for clubs that day with that particular swing , but if I decide to change something in my swing , it will change my fitting characteristics too. So until I reach the time that I'm a bit happier with my swing , I'll keep trying new stuff as it becomes available , and it's kinda fun too :)
