Lay it on us.  What have you run across that has surpised you?  What little gem of a golf club has passed the rest of us by?

For me it is the Mizuno JPX-850 driver.  Had little expectation for this club when I first tested it and was very surprised.  Still does not have a lot of shaft options but a very underrated product in a market segment full of the "usual" players.  I am expecting their upcoming like of drivers will be even more impressive.

Cobra Fly Z+ Driver. I am perfectly happy with my Covert, but was killing time hitting balls at the GolfTown one day early in the summer. Hit a bunch of the new ones with little impression. Then hit the Cobra. Wasn't as long as some of the others, but ridiculously forgiving. Everything just went straight. Was very impressed.

Covert Tour 2.0 Driver, XHot 3w, Sumo 5w, Diablo Edge Tour 4h, Bio Cell 5.5h, Vapour Pro Combo 7i-AW, VRPro 55*, SM4 60*, Tour S 64*, TruRoll Putter

For me it is my current irons, Nike Vapor ProCombos

I have never been a Nike guy. And I never ever thought I would own Nike clubs. But when these were announced and I saw them I became curious. They are really really good looking IMHO. So when they became available at GolfTown I tried them and really liked them. From that point on the search was on.

A month or two ago, I found a set and bought them, and have not looked back. These are as nice a set of irons as they are good looking. The heads combined with Dynamic Gold Pro S300s are a perfect fit forme. Easy to launch high and great feel.

These irons have totally changed my perception of Nike.

Mine were ordered today! Now to count the days :(. Hope they come soon. Would love to bag them for club championships in a little over 2 weeks! Plus then going down to Toronto/Falls for a week and am hoping to play Glen Abbey and Battlefield (assuming I'm still unable to find somebody to get me on St. catharines country club).

I don't know if it was surprising as there was a lot of hype for them, but my favourite new product this year is the Callaway Chrome Soft ball. It's great with the short game, but my favourite thing with this ball is how well it flies in the wind. Doesn't move nearly as much as the Lethals and Bstone RX 330s I had been using in the past.

A few things caught me by surprise this year in equipment .

The first was my SLDR driver which I tried at the end of last season , at first I wasn't convinced , but I upgraded the shaft and I'm loving the results , longer and more consistent than previous driver setups .

Second was the addition of a SLDR 3 wood TP , a little cannon , great for finding the fairway on the tighter driving holes , almost as long as a driver at times

Third was the discovery of the Tour Preferred golf ball by TM , love the results from this ball , stop on a dime , consistent distances , great feel too.

Lots of time left this season to discover a few other gems Smile

Did you get the TMag tattoo yet?  3 products and I think they get you one for free.  Laugh
