                                 - As Promised Santa Did Arrive Early in Santee -

In a small South Carolina town less than a three-wood, they say, off Hwy I-95, there’s some golf magic happening.

It’s not what you might expect in a town that a census says has less than 800 residents, but make no mistake about it, Santee which bills itself as America’s Value Golf Destination – is a beauty.

So it made perfect sense when Santee Cooper Resort’s GM Todd Miller and Claudio DeMarchi, the long-time Canadian rep for the area, began to develop the idea for a tournament in early December. “We have an event mid-summer, let’s have one in the winter” was Todd’s suggestion.  Referring to the Patriot’s Day Event at Santee Cooper Resort.  It was a natural fit – a Winter 4-Ball Classic in a place one southern gentleman leaned in over a couple of beers and dubbed “the biggest small town I’ve ever seen.”
