Looks like Tiger will start his season in back to back weeks in San Diego and Phoenix.

Been a long while since he has played Phoenix (2001 was the last time).  It's also SuperBowl weekend there.

Going to be a gong show.

Will Tiger raise the roof and boost their attendance to a new record (could top 600,000 for the week)?

How do you think he'll fare early in the year.

The attendance record will depend on whether he plays 4 rounds, and there are no guarantees there anymore. Played 7 last year, WD from 2, missed the cut in 2, missed the 2nd cut in 1. Only played 4 days in 2 tournaments, one of which was a WGC with no cut. Will be interesting to see how this year plays out.

Nice related tweet from former tour player Joe Ogilvie:

The way 16 is set up now he might want to bring an umbrella. It could be raining beer from all sides.Wink

Yeah. Anyone who's thinking of going down, you might want to book a hotel room now... in Tucson. Confused

I think Tiger manages a top 25 in at least 1 of them. If he doesn't though, if his problem is putting I won't be worried. If it' chipping/pitching again I'll be very very worried. I hope they set up 16 to be 152 again on Thursday just for fun.

Personally it is one of my favourite events to watch outside of the majors.  It has a very strong field and holes 15 to 18 are one the best closing stretches on the tour.
