8th PING Challenge Cup Set For Play At Greyhawk GC

The winning Assistant/Associate Professionals squad from the 2016 PING Challenge Cup

The 8th edition of the PGA of Canada – Ottawa Zone PING Challenge Cup will take place September 18th at the Greyhawk Golf Club in Cumberland, Ontario. It is presented by Flagstick Golf Magazine.

The annual event sees two teams of Zone professionals (Head Professionals versus Assistant/Associate Professionals), chosen by their rankings on the year’s Flagstick.com Players Tour, battle over 36 holes in a friendly team competition.

Formats include 2-man Better-Ball and Alternate Shot Matches (9 holes each) and the 18-hole Singles matches that normally decide the outcome of the event.

Over the last seven years the Assistant Professionals team has a slight edge in the competition, winning four times.

Last year the 3-3 tie was broken with a 12.5 to 11.5 victory by the Assistant/Associate Pros.
