Soggy Times On The LPGA Tour

Weather was once again a factor at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. The third round was hampered by a long weather delay which prevented the conclusion of play.

Chinese golfer Shanshan Feng holds the lead at -13 with a bevy of pursuers not far behind.

Overall the Canadians fared much better than they did in round two with Alena Sharp (71-75-70) and Maude-Aimee Leblanc (69-76-71) now sharing 52nd place. Brooke Henderson (70-79-74) is tied for 68th.

Somebody Was In A Hurry

A serious and odd golf-related story from Bayfield, Ontario.

A 27-year from Cambridge is in a heap of trouble after an early morning drive through Bayfield, a small village in Huron County, this past Wednesday morning.

At about 4:07 a.m. that day the local Ontario Provincial Police clocked a truck whipping by at 145 km/h.  The bad part? It was a 60 km/h zone. The odd part? He was hauling a trailer full of golf carts!

After more gnarly driving moves by the golf cart-laden vehicle the OPP, with the use of a number of police cruisers, eventually got the runaway golf cart hauler stopped.

Once an arrest and breath tests were conducted the 27 year-old was gifted with a few charges including impaired driving, driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, dangerous driving and stunt driving.

He also picked a 90-day automatic license suspension (automatic for the speed) and an extra 7 days added to that. The truck (but no word on the golf carts) will also be impounded for 7 days.
