In 2o15 Bath, Ontario Augusta James came oh, so close to fulfilling a dream. The former Canadian Ladies Amateur Champion finished in 12th place on the Symetra Tour Order of Merit. Unfortunately only the top ten players advanced to the LPGA Tour.
This year the goal for James as she returned to the Symetra circuit was consistency. So far it’s working out. In five of the six tournaments so far she has finished inside the top 12 spots.
A win has alluded her so far, but she continues to give herself opportunities to get her second victory on the tour.
Her fine play continued on Friday as she followed an opening 74 with a stellar 68 at the Gosling’s Dark ‘N Stormy Classic in Milton, Georgia.
With a two under par total James now shares 4th place, up a remarkable 46 spots from where she stood after round one.
The former North Carolina State golfer is four strokes off the lead with eighteen holes to play. Prima Thammaraks and Laura Wearn lead at -6.
James currently sits in 7th place in the year-long Volvik Race for the Card and she can solidify or improve that with a good finish on Saturday.
