Symetra Tour member Augusta James of Bath,Ontario is showing fine form to start the 2016 season. Two weeks ago she was a winner on the NWGA tour event in California, and yesterday she was contending for a title again.

The Team Canada Young Pro squad member was tied for the lead at the NWGA tour event in Deltona, Florida with 18 holes to play.

She carried that lead into the back nine where former LPGA member Erica Popson slipped past her with an eagle on the 16th hole to prevail. James responded with a birdie on the 17th but Popson was up to the task and maintained her one-stroke separation to the end.

That left Augusta in second place after rounds of 69, 69, and 73 for a -5 total.

In four events on the NWGA tour in 2016 she has finished no lower than 12th and has three top-five finishes, including the victory.

She will resume her Symetra Tour season at the Florida’s Natural Classic in Lake Wales, Florida in just under a month.
