She finished strong but it was not quite enough for Augusta James. The Bath, Ontario pro finished in a share of 14th place at the Symetra Tour Championship over the past weekend after closing with a round of 66 (-5) in Longwood, Florida.
Rounds of 72,68,73 and 66 earned James (USD) $3226.00 in her 22nd and final event of the Symetra Tour season. It was a consistent year for the former Canadian Women’s Amateur champion as she missed just three cuts and had seven top-ten finishes.
Unfortunately her season long money total of $63,547 was $4,030 short of the tenth place spot on the tour’s Volvik Race For The Card, the final position that earned a place on the LPGA TOUR for 2017.
James finished in 13th place on the tour’s final money list. It earns her direct entry into Stage III of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament at LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Florida, beginning November 30th.
