The 2017 Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic was a massive success.
More than 100 golfers, including members of the Ottawa Senators and PGA TOUR player Brad Fritsch, took to the fairways at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club on September 11 and raised $156,160 for the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
“We are very grateful for the support we received from the hockey club, its players, sponsors and the participants that made today such a success,” said Danielle Robinson, president and CEO, Ottawa Senators Foundation. “Our guests come here to meet and play golf with the players and coaches, but most importantly, they leave with a clear understanding of what their support means and how it benefits hundreds of children and youth in our community.”
The fund will help the Foundation continue their involvement in social and education programs that promote physical and mental wellness, especially among youth.
“Bell is very pleased to continue supporting the Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic to raise funds for mental health programs that help children and youth in our community,” said Mirko Bibic, Bell’s chief legal & regulatory officer and executive vice-president, corporate development. “Each year, we look forward to participating in this event that plays such an important role in helping to improve the lives of so many young people.”
The event is well-supported by the corporate community and in its 23-year history has raised some $2.3 million that has been funnelled back onto the community.
