Brooke Henderson proved that even a few weeks off did not dull her game.
The 18 year-old from Smiths Falls, Ontario cruised to a bogey-free 66 on Sunday to conclude play at the LPGA’s season ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida. She had not teed it up in an LPGA event since the Evian Championship concluded on September 13th.
After opening with rounds of 72, 70, and 71, Henderson made a nice push in the final eighteen holes, posting three birdies a side for a clean scorecard during her round of -6. It propelled her to a 72-hole total of 279 (-9) and earned her (USD) $29,144.
Her 13th place finish, with sister Brittany caddying, was her 7th time inside the top 15 in fourteen LPGA events played in 2015.
Although her official earnings for the season are listed at $100,294, that tally does not include the money earned prior to her accepting LPGA membership after her win at the Cambia Portland Classic in August.
Her unofficial total of LPGA earnings for 2015 amounted to (USD) $761,558.
Brooke’s fellow Canadian, Alena Sharp, tied for 46th place at the CME Group Tour Championship at even par to earn (USD) $6627. Sharp had her best season on the LPGa Tour in 2015, earning (USD) $272,757.
Cristie Kerr won the CME Group Tour Championship with a score of 271 (-17).
Lydia Ko won the Race to the CME Globe for the second year in a row and the $1,000,000 bonus.
