The field surged on Friday during the third round of the LPGA Lotte Championship presented by Hershey at Ko Olina in Hawaii. The winds laid down and a number of players too advantage to go low. Unfortunately Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls was not one of them. She had some struggles with the putter that kept her from scoring lower on the day. She posted a 71 (-1) to put her at -6 total. That has her in a share of 12th and she is seven strokes back of the leader, Katie Burnett.
Alena Sharp of Hamilton is tied for 51st while Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C. shares 61st.
Seven Canadians made it past the 36-hole cut at this week’s Symetra Tour event in Ft. Myers, Florida, the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial.
Leading the way among the Canadians is Jessica Wallace and Sara Maude Juneau. Both are at -2 total, share 15th place, and are 4 shots off the lead.
Defending champion Augusta James of Bath, Ontario is tied for 28th at even par, the same score as Sue Kim of B.C.
Ontario’s Christina Foster shares 32nd while her fellow Ontarians, Rebecca Lee-Bentham and Brittany Marchand, share 50th.
Three Canadians made the 36-hole cut at the RBC Heritage. Graham DeLaet is tied for 11th at -3 while Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin share 63rd to start the weekend at +2.
David Hearn missed the cut while Mike Weir withdrew after a 78 in round one flu citing flu.
