In his first appearance as a member of the PGA TOUR, Dundas, Ontario’s Mackenzie Hughes fared quite well.
The Tour Rookie posted a 13 under par total (69,69,69,68) at the Safeway Open in Napa, California, to finish in a tie for 13th place.
Hughes, who turned pro in 2013, was making just his 5th ever start on the PGA TOUR and was the only Canadian to make the cut this week at the Silverado Resort and Spa North.
This week was the first time he made the cut in a PGA TOUR event.
For his efforts the former Kent State Flash earned (USD) $120,000. That is the second largest cheque of his professional career, only topped by the first place prize of $121,500 he earned earlier this year at the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the Web.com Tour.
