In just a few short years the golf facility at eQuinelle in Kemptville, Ontario has become known for it’s stunning outdoor space.  By later this year they should have a 15,000 square foot indoor space to match the quality of their championship level Darrell Huxham designed golf course.

After kicking off construction last September the clubhouse at the award-winning facility is on track to open later this year, according to management.  Favourable weather up until Christmas allowed the work crews to get a good head start on the building. Framing of the clubhouse began early last month and the lower level foundation and concrete walls were completed just before the holiday season.

When complete the expansive structure will become a focal point for the community.  Included among its amenities will be banquet and wedding facilities, a restaurant/bistro, locker facilities for men and women, a fully-stocked pro shop, upgraded snack bar, and club storage facilities.

The residents of the eQuinelle Community will have an additional 9,000 square foot club that adjoins the clubhouse. It will be highlighted by billiards, fitness, a yoga studio, multi-purpose room for other games, and a library. A pool will be part of the second phase of the build.

While residents of the development and members and guests of the course have expressed their delight at the new amenities few are more excited at the addition than the club’s General Manager Katharine Usher-Vollett.

“eQuinelle residents and our golf clients have waited patiently for the clubhouse to come to fruition, and we are extremely excited with the addition of such a building. I am thrilled with the addition of the clubhouse, as it brings us to the next level of providing the ultimate golf experience,” Usher-Vollett commented.

Having had to operate for five seasons without a full clubhouse has not been a totally negative situation says Usher-Vollett. She conveyed that the situation allowed them to concentrate on building their customer base and be focused on their golf course product.  The new addition will allow them to expand their offerings to their clientele in the form of a venue ideal for special events like weddings and business conferences.

It’s a big step towards reaching the potential of the facility, according to Rob Knights, Vice President of Operations and Business Development for TMSI Sports Management, who operate eQuinelle Golf on behalf of the owners, The Regional Group.

“The addition of a clubhouse at eQuinelle essentially completes the facility and truly makes it the premier public access golf course in the Ottawa area. The clubhouse also allows us to provide the full golf experience for our customers and will open eQuinelle up to hosting more and larger golf tournaments, weddings and events.”

Barring unforeseen circumstances the clubhouse at eQuinelle will open in Mid-September.
