ClubLink Sponsors CanTour Event

Mississauga, ON., February 24, 2010- The Canadian Tour’s Jane Rogers Championship (JRC) announced today its partnership with ClubLink as the Title Sponsor of the JRC to be held at Greystone Golf Club in Milton, Ontario, August 9th through the 15th.

Ranked 38th in SCORE Magazine’s annual golf course rankings, this beautiful 6864 yard, par 72 course will welcome a field of 164 competitors as they vie for a $125, 000 purse and official World Golf Rankings points.

“I’m pleased that ClubLink has agreed to be an integral part of this year’s Jane Rogers Championship”, said Tournament Chairman, Elliott Kerr. “Last year’s tournament was a grand success, no less in part because of ClubLink’s involvement in helping us stage a truly first-class event.”

The 2009 Jane Rogers Championship saw an exciting finish with a three way playoff between Ryan Yip, Trey Denton, and Jeff Cuzzort who were all tied at -6 at the culmination of regulation play.  Yip, who after a birdie on the third playoff hole, would win the title of the JRC victor, took home a purse of $20,000 and was also the recipient of the first annual Gord Coyle Cup, which acknowledges the low Canadian.

Daily admission for the 2010 JRC will be $10 per person, with children, students and seniors being admitted for free.  Tickets will be available for purchase at the course entrance throughout the duration of the tournament.  Furthermore, anyone with a 2010 RBC Canadian Open ticket will be able to gain free entrance to the JRC through showing their RBC Canadian Open ticket at the gate.

This year’s pro am will be taking place Wednesday, August 11, 2010.  Teams can be purchased by contacting Landmark Sport Group at 905.949.1910 ext. 232 or by emailing srogers@landmarksport.com.

The JRC is named and presented in honour of Jane Rogers, a courageous woman who, while battling cancer, raised funds for her cancer clinic, the Trillium Hospital in Mississauga.  She inspired family, friends and strangers alike. Jane was a lover of golf and enjoyed following Canadian Tour professionals as they developed their careers.

All net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada and the Trillium Health Centre Oncology Unit.  This is the event’s fourth year and tournament organizers, Landmark Sport Group, are determined to build on the momentum of three successful events and grow the event as well as continue to make significant donations to the charities.

Charles Lorimer, ClubLink Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, said ClubLink is pleased to be associated with the Jane Rogers Championship for the second straight year as well as with the tournament’s featured charities, the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada and Trillium Health Centre Oncology Clinic.  “We pride ourselves on our commitment to supporting charities and to helping develop young professional golfers,” Lorimer said. “With the help of the Greystone members’ committee, the Jane Rogers Championship and its pro-ams offer the kind of value-added experience our members deserve.”
