Flagstick.com caught up with CWGI President Donna Sullivan at the 2016 Canadian Women Golfers Inc. Member Appreciation reception held at the RA Centre on Riverside Drive in Ottawa on April 20th.
We asked Donna to describe her first full year as the new owner of CWGI and her plans for this year.
An enthusiastic response from Donna was forthcoming. “My first year was fantastic. It was exciting. It was challenging. It was rewarding. I knew CWGI was good and a great way for women to get out and play golf, but I really know more now than that. It’s a tremendous network of women that are supportive, that love to golf and they’re just fun to be with. It’s been a wonderful year.
As for 2016, we have exciting things planned for our season. We’re not going south of the border this year because of the currency exchange but we’re going to the Laurentians, we’re going up the Ottawa Valley and probably down to Smugglers again this year. We also are running an opening tournament, fashion show and dinner on May 28th at Loch March with Danielle Nadon.
As an avid golfer myself, I know that CWGI is the best place for women to come and play/learn golf on their terms. The members of CWGI are an incredible group of women who are supportive, respectful, fun and women that know firsthand all of the wonderful experiences that golf can add to your life; friendships, travel, outdoor exercise and an abundance of good times.”
More information on the Leagues and golf opportunities offered by CWGI can be found on their website at www.cwgi.ca.
