Diane Dolan arrived at Cedarhill Golf & Country Club early in the morning to play in the second group of the day in the Ottawa Valley Golf Association’s Senior Women’s Championship. Her day started with a ball out of bounds on the first hole. Not a great way to start, but her bogey score with her second ball brought her back and she eventually finished with the low score of 74 on the day and a second Senior Women’s Championship and the Janet Matthews Championship Trophy.  One stroke back was Rideau View Country Club’s Lyn Leclerc who also was the winner of the low net in “A” division.

Unfortunately the inclement weather that hit the Ottawa area forced the senior women in “B” and “C” divisions off the course at Cedarhill. OVGA officials eventually decided to award prizes based on 9-hole scores recorded by all of the players.

Bonnie Brown from Lombard Glen and Glen Mar’s Diane Beauchamp tied in “B” division for low gross with scores of 42. Diane Beauchamp also tied for low net honours with Hylands Dolores Renaud.

Patricia Hayes from Rideau Glen finished in first place in “C” division with her gross score of 49 and her 33 net score. Second in both gross and net was Carleton Golf & Yacht Club’s Marg Willis with scores of 50 gross and 34 net.

Next up for the OVGA Women is the 4 Ball Better Ball at Nationview.
