The Deep River Golf Club in Deep River, Ontario recently announced the hiring of Drew Calver as their new Head Professional and Operations Manager.

“I’m excited for sure”, said Mr. Calver when contacted by Flagstick Golf Magazine. “There’s a lot going on right now in preparation for the 2016 season,” added the PGA of Canada member.

Drew will be running the golf operations at the Deep River Club and working closely with the members. He indicated that there are no major changes in the golf club operation being planned.

Drew is a Pembroke resident who has worked for 15 years years at the Island Brae Golf Club, the last eight as the assistant professional.  A graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Humber College, he is married to Jenny and they have a 10 month-old daughter, Lydia.

The Deep River Golf Club is a picturesque 9-hole golf course designed by Canadian golf course architects Stanley Thompson and Howard Watson. Watson also supervised the construction of the course that opened for play in July of 1952.
