Golf Canada Sets Up Training At Bear Mountain

Team Canada’s National Golf Programs have their first full-time home and it will be on the west coast.

The Bear Mountain Resort and Golf Canada have entered into a four-year partnership at the Victoria, British Columbia-area facility where they recently held a training camp.

Athletes and coaches of the Team Canada Amateur, Development, and Young Pro Squads will have year-round access to the property including all the golf, resort, and fitness amenities.

The resort is home to 36-holes of Jack Nicklaus designed golf laid out over 826 acres,

“We are very excited to begin this partnership with Bear Mountain and look forward to having our Team Canada players training at one of the best facilities in Canada,” said Golf Canada CEO Scott Simmons. “The facility is well-equipped to provide year-round support for our athletes, coaches and high performance training initiatives.”

During the next four years Bear Mountain will also host two Golf Canada championships.
