Golf Québec recently recognized their top volunteer for 2016.

The honour for this season went to Rémi Pronovost who has dedicated himself to young golfers in the Lower St. Lawrence Region since 2007.

Pronovost began his volunteer journey at Val-Neigette Golf Club where he was a member from 2007 to 2010. There he was a key player in the introduction of the CN Future Links program, eventually progressing to him running a Junior Skills Challenge. He did that both at that club and at Empress Golf Club in 2013.

He would move on to be a member at Club de golf Bic where, in 2011, he became the Junior Representative of the Lower St. Lawrence/Côte-Nord Regional Association. It is a role he still fulfills.

In that role he has escorted teams to the Québec Games, as well as Provincial Junior Championships since 2011.

In 2012 he was head of planning for the Pomerleau Junior Classic held at le Bic in 2012, leading to him being honoured as the 2012 Volunteer of the Year by the Lower St. Lawrence Unité régionale de loisir et de sport (URLS).

He subsequently was involved with the Golf In The Schools program that he helped grow into including the high schools of his region.

In his role as the Regional Junior Representative, Pronovost has been a member of the Golf Québec provincial Player Development Committee since 2015.
