Brooke Henderson saved her best for last at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open.
The 18 year-old pro from Smiths Falls, Ontario went into the final round of the co-sanctioned LPGA/LET Tour event at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia in a share of 30th place.
She improved that dramatically with a final round that included five birdies and no bogies for a 67; 5 under par.
That gave her a four round total of 281 (-7) after she opened with round of 70, 71, and 73, earning her a 9th place finish. It is her second top ten in a row to start the LPGA season.
Alena Sharp of Hamilton, Ontario finished at 287 with rounds of 71,75,70, and 71 to share 38th place.
Henderson had just six bogies on her card all week and she had a great ball-striking performance. She averaged almost 85% of her greens hit in regulation.
Next up for Brooke is an appearance on the Ladies European Tour in Australia at the RACV Masters starting February 25th. She received a sponsor’s invite to the tournament along with fellow Canadian Lorie Kane.
Other Canadians in that field include Nancy Harvey and Kyla Inaba.
