Brooke Goes Under Par
Round two went much better for Brooke Henderson at the limited field LPGA Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico.
On Friday the world’s 7th ranked female golfer added a 71 (-1) to her opening 74 and now shares 22nd place in the 35 player field.
The Smiths Falls, Ontario golfer has three birdies against two bogeys in round two with 6 less putts than in round one.
At +1 overall she is ten strokes off the lead of Australian Sarah Jane Smith but just six strokes out of the top ten.
Two Canucks In Reach
Ontario golfers David Hearn and Mackenzie Hughes will have the weekend off after missing the cut at the PGA TOUR’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. While they do so two of their countrymen are lurking near the top of the leaderboard.
B.C.’s Adam Hadwin added a 66 on Friday to his opening 67 to reach -9. That has him in a share of 4th place, four strokes off the lead of American Gary Woodland.
Hadwin’s west coast pal, Nick Taylor, also had a 66 on Friday and shares 11th at -8.
