It appears that the Pro-Am hosted by Brittany and Brooke Henderson has a firm date.
A release from organizers tabs the day for the “Magenta Mortgage Pro-Am presented by Mike Fair Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Ltd. in support of the Team Henderson 110% Club” as Monday, June 15th at the Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club.
The Executive Director for the “Team Henderson 110% Club”, Dave Dargie, noted that a date change made last week was reversed to better accommodate schedules of potential participants.
“Our original date of Monday, June 15th is proving to be the best day for attracting LPGA players to Brooke & Brittany’s Pro-Am. We will be excited to announce in the near future the addition of some top Canadian players to our field who have indicated that they are excited about supporting this charity event and making sure that it gets off to a good start!”
Dargie has indicated the goal will be to attract LPGA Tour, Symetra Tour, and PGA of Canada pros to lead as many as 36 teams of amateurs.
The day is expected to start with a breakfast, sponsor reception, warm up sessions by players, and then there will be player availability for photos and autographs afterward, prior to tee-off.
Post play there is a social hour and dinner scheduled with a cash purse for the pros and various prizing for the amateurs. A silent and live auction will supplement the effort to raise funds for the tournament’s designated charities, which are yet to be announced.
Organizers for the Pro-Am say registration will be opened in early April following a media conference (date and time to be announced) where sponsors and participating pros will be named. It is hoped that both Henderson sisters will be able to attend that conference.
Brooke and Brittany Henderson are both competing on the Sun Coast Ladies Tour in Florida this week. Brooke, the former #1 amateur in the world, is spreading her time between that tour and the LPGA Tour when she can Monday qualify and receive exemptions, while Brittany is a full time member of the Symetra Tour.
