In a year where she already captured several significant titles Brooke Henderson added yet another this week at the OFSAA (Ontario High School) Girls’ Golf Championship.
The OFSAA Girls’ Golf Festival was played at the Loch March Golf & Country Club in Kanata on October 13th and it was Henderson who shot the low score of 70, two under par. Henderson was also won the EOSSAA Champion. Earlier this year she won the Eastern Provinces Championship, CN Ontario Future Links Championship and the GAO Ontario Junior Girls’ Championship.
The thirteen year-old grade nine student from Smiths Falls beat out her nearest competitor, Courtney Tolton, by five strokes.
Kanata’s Grace Howie tied for fifth with a score of 78.
At the Boy’s Golf Festival being played at the Trillium Wood Golf Club in Belleville it was Osama Khan of Appleby College who won a playoff for the championship. Khan shot 70-66 (136) and beat out Paul Doig in the extra hole showdown.
Josh Whalen of Napanee, the Ontario Juvenile Champion, was the low finisher from the region. Whalen won the bronze medal in a playoff with Dan Bowling.
