What better way to honour somebody who felt so much joy on a golf course then a golf day in her honour?
Family and friends of the late Grace Glofcheskie have organized a golf day in her honour. The Grace Glofcheskie Memorial Golf Tournament (The Grace Olivia Tournament) will be held on Saturday August 13, 2016 at the Sand Point Golf Course where Grace spent many days honing her fine golf skills.
Tragically Grace passed away this past December in Guelph, where she enjoyed her university career, after being struck by a vehicle driven by a man fleeing the police.
The Captain of the Gryphon women’s golf team was known for her willingness to care for others and this tournament will help continue that legacy in her home community.
Event organizers says that due to demand their will be two full shotgun fields for the tournament, one starting at 8 a.m. and one starting at 1 p.m.
The registration is now open for the 8 a.m. shotgun with sign up for the 1 p.m. field starting on May 13th, but with limited spots.
The money raised from the event will go to The Grace Glofcheskie Memorial Fund, with those monies dispersed within Grace’s home community of Arnprior.
Those who cannot make it to the tournament can make a donation via the golf tournament website. The organizers are also looking for volunteers. They can sign up at the website.
