Leaderboard Watch – Canadians On Tour

Canadians golf professionals are competing on a variety Tours this week.  An update with leaderboard links so you can track them all week long.

Four Canadians are competing in the LPGA Lotte Championship in Hawaii this week – Sue Kim, Jennifer Kirby, Alena Sharp and Rebecca Lee-Bentham.

With a 71 Sue Kim was the best of the bunch after round one.

There are two Canadians in the field at the El Bosque Mexico Championship on the Web.com Tour this week – Brad Fritsch (Manotick, ON) and Ted Brown (Peterborough, ON).

Corey Conners of Listowel, Ontario, will make his professional debut this week at the RBC Heritage Classic on the PGA TOUR.  He joins fellow Canadians Mike Weir, Nick Taylor, Adam Hadwin, David Hearn, and Graham DeLaet in the field.

While some of the men’s and women’s mini-tours do not have an event scheduled this week it is back life as normal for theSymetra Tour.  They are hosting the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial in Fort Myers.  This event is unique on that it is two tournaments in one – it has a regular 72-hole Symetra Tour event and also has a Legends Tour event running over 36 holes.  The players play side-by-side in the field over the weekend.

In the Symetra Tour field there are 11 Canadians – Maude-Aimee Leblanc, Brogan McKinnon, Samantha Richdale, Natalie Gleadall, Brittany Henderson, Anne-Cateherine Tanguay, Nicole Vandermade, Jessica Wallace, Augusta James, Sara-Maude Juneau, and Nicole Zhang.

Within the 30 player Legends Tour field Canada is also well represented.  Canadian players in that event include Dawn Coe-Jones, Gail Graham, and Lorie Kane.

The PGA TOUR Canada starts the first of their three qualifying schools this week.  First up is a trip to Florida where the field includes 16 Canadians.  The 72 holes of play begins Tuesday and runs through to Friday.  The top finisher will be fully exempt on tour.  The players finishing 2-18 will earn conditional status where they are exempt through the first 6 events on the schedule and will be reshuffled after that.  Finishers 19-40 plus ties will earn conditional status.

Jessica McPhee of British Columbia finished in the top ten at the cactus Tour event that ended Wednesday.
