Eight Canadian players made it to the final round of the first Symetra Tour event of the 2015 season on Sunday.  Unfortunately for them there was little chance of catching eventual winner, 16-year old amateur Hannah O’Sullivan.

The high schooler shot 67-65-69 (-15) for the week to win the title at the Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.

That left 1st place prize money ($15,000 USD) for 2nd place finisher (low professional)  Haley Italia.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc, a 26 year-old Sherbrooke, Quebec native, was the low Canadian in the field.  She earned a tie for 4th place on rounds of 72,68,70 for $3,344 in prize money.

Samantha Richdale of British Columbia tied for 14th while Brittany Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario shared 25th place in her first start as a member of the Symetra Tour.  Her fellow eastern Ontario golfer, Augusta James, was as high as 4th place on the leaderboard during the final round but eventually settled for a tie for 29th
