Update: McQuillan fired a second round 69 and has a two stroke lead.  He starts his 3rd round in the final group at 2:20 EST today.

Kingston’s Matt McQuillan finished up tied for the lead this morning after the 1st round of the eGolf Tour Palmetto Hall Championship in South Carolina.

The first round had to be finished up today after darkness swept in and prevented the 204 player field to finish.  A frost delay in the morning delayed the tournament start time.

That meant that the 2nd half of the field vying for the estimated (USD) $35,000 first prize had to complete play this morning,  By the time all the 1st round scores were posted McQuillan sat tied for the lead with Ryan Gildersleeve.  Both shot 66.

2nd round action of the 72-hole event is underway and we will keep you updated.

Players in the field include many with PGA Tour experience, including Doug Barron, Derek Fathauer, Kyle Thompson, Ty Tryon and Tadd Fujikawa.
