One more week of decent weather means that a solid group of Eastern Ontario golf courses have decided to remain open for a few more days. Don’t be shy about calling your favourite course to see if they can accommodate you.
Hamilton, Ontario’s Alena Sharp had the best finish of her LPGA Tour over the weekend. The ten year veteran LPGA veteran shot 74-70-74-73 (+3) at the Blue Bay LPGA event on Hainan Island in China. The tie for 5th place earned her (USD) $69,272. It moved her up to 64th place in the Race to The CME Globe money list.
The Canadian men did not fare as well at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia. David Hearn was the top finisher in a share of 29th place to earn $44,508. Nick Taylor shared 47th while Richard T. Lee earned a piece of 75th place.
Nick Taylor defends his 2014 championship this week at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Also scheduled to compete are Adam Hadwin and Graham DeLaet. DeLaet’s appearance will be highly dependent on the impending arrival of the twins he and wife Ruby are expecting any day.
Brad Fritsch’s season on the Web.com Tour might be over but he has not put his clubs away for the season yet. The Manotick, Ontario native told Flagstick.com last week that he is working on a couple exemptions for overseas events and it also looking at some Monday qualifying opportunities.
Word came last week that the Oak Hills Golf Course in Stirling, Ontario is up for sale. The club will actually be auctioned off on December 9th at 3:00 p.m. through an online/open bid process. If you want more information on the auction process you can see the link here.
