It’s a sure sign of Spring, isn’t it?
The snow piles may still be deep in the National Capital Region but golfers can put them out of their mind for a few hours this weekend. Their escape? The annual Ottawa-Gatineau Golf Expo at the EY Centre presented by the National Golf Course Owners’ Association.
More than 100 exhibitors are expected to fill 90,000 square feet of floor space on Saturday, March 7th, and Sunday, March 8th.
As always the show will be boosted by displays from golf courses, vacation destinations, golf equipment manufacturers, retailers and all manners of golf related services.
Show Manager Carol Ann Campbell assured us that there will be a number of interactive exhibits for golfers of all ages includes the kid-friendly program She Swings, She Scores program from the Golf Association of Ontario. A key feature of the show this year is free admission for all children under 17 years of age. There will also be free admission on Sunday for all members and veterans of the Armed Forces.
A silent auction will run throughout the weekend and their will be a seminar series on the the stage with presentations about equipment and instruction.
“We have a great floor this year…” remarked Campbell a couple weeks back, admitting she had been working around the clock to prep for the show. “…lots of returning exhibitors that people who have been before may have seen but we’ve got some new and exciting people to come and join us as well.”
She continued,” We’ve really really tried to liven up the floor this year. We’ve tried to make sure the every section of the floor has something exciting in it.”
The Ottawa Gatineau Golf Expo gets underway on Saturday March 7th at 9:00 a.m. and will be open that day until 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 8th, the show will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Flagstick will be attending the show, as we have since 1996, so please stop by the booth and say hello to our team, pick up a Spring Issue of Flagstick, and chat a little golf. We’re also sponsoring a Long Drive Competition.
