PGA of Ottawa Presents End of Season Awards

danny-poirier-andrew-donaldson-colin-orr-and-marc-andre-piette-missing-is-kristen-mclarenIn conjunction with the 35th Annual Boutique Pro Golf Buying Show being held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel & Casino in Gatineau, Quebec, the PGA of Ottawa held their annual awards presentation evening to honour their tournament champions as well as honour PGA of Ottawa Members in a number of categories.

The co-hosts for the evening were Martin Boucher from Boutique Pro Golf and PGA of Ottawa President Greg Chambers.

Presenting the golf awards for the season were PGA of Ottawa Co-Captains Colin Orr and Bill Keating.

Lee Curry from the OAC picked up his Match Play “A” side championship trophy along with “A” Runner-up Graham Gunn of the Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School. The Match Play “B” Side trophy was won by Smiths Falls Adam Miller and the Runner-up trophy went to Camelot’s Marc-Andre Piette.

The winner of the Spring Open on the flagstick.com Players Tour held at Carleton Golf & Yacht Club and sponsored by Boutique Pro Golf and the PGA of Ottawa was Prescott’s Bill Minkhorst.

The winners of the Pro-Pro Event on the flagstick.com Players Tour held at Whitetail and sponsored by Boutique Pro Golf and the PGA of Ottawa were the OAC’s Lee Curry and Rivermead’s Bob Flaro.

Sponsored by TaylorMade / Adidas, the Summer Open on the flagstick.com Players Tour held at GreyHawk was won by GolfTEC’s Colin Pitchers.

The PGA of Ottawa’s Senior Championship on the flagstick.com Players Tour was held at Mississippi Golf Club and won by Graham Gunn from the Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School for the 7th time.

The PGA of Ottawa Zone Championship on the flagstick.com Players Tour was sponsored by Titleist / FootJoy and held at the Camelot Golf & Country Club and won for the 2nd consecutive by Carleton Golf & Yacht Club’s Dave McDonald.

The flagstick.com Players Tour Player of the Year award was won by Lee Curry from the OAC.

Awards nominated by and voted for by PGA of Ottawa Members were also presented in a number of categories.

Marc-Andre Piette from the Camelot Golf & Country Club was the winner of the PGA of Ottawa Junior Leader of the Year Award over fellow nominees Jeffrey Gunn (Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School) and the OAC’s Colin Orr.

Kristen McLaren from the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club took home the PGA of Ottawa Assistant Professional Award over Carleton Golf & Yacht Club’s Dave McDonald and Camelot Golf & Country Club’s Marc-Andre Piette.

The PGA of Ottawa Teacher of the Year Award was won by the OAC’s Colin Orr over Rideau View Golf Club’s Matt Robinson and Graham Gunn from the Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School.

The PGA of Ottawa’s Head Professional of the Year Award was won by The Marshes Andrew Donaldson over Kingsway Park’s Marc Foucault and Camelot Golf & Country Club’s Bill Keating.

Callaway Golf’s Danny Poirier took home the PGA of Ottawa’s Sales Representative of the Year Award. Also nominated were Titleist / FootJoy’s Gavin Corbeil and Raegan Wilkie from Puma / Cobra.

Congratulations to all of the PGA of Ottawa Award winners and congratulations also to all PGA of Ottawa Professionals for their hard work and dedication to the game of golf.
