Susan Pearl from the Rideau View Country Club received the Golfer of the Year Award at the Ottawa Sports Awards held at Algonquin College on the evening of January 25.

With four of her club-mates in attendance and her husband Herb watching live via the Internet from the sunny south, Susan was radiant as she received her award while waving to her husband. In fact, Susan had flown flew back from their Florida vacation to receive her award.

This was the second Golfer of the Year Awards as she also won in 2005. The current Rideau View Ladies Club Champion and the OVGA Senior Ladies Champion, Susan also teamed with her close friend Pam Burnside to win the OVGA Four Ball Best Ball Championship, while setting a course record of 66 at the Anderson Links Golf Club.

Susan brought home three Golf Quebec Provincial Championships this past summer -The Mid-Am Championship (2nd time in three years), The Players Cup Championship and the Senior Championship. She was also the merit point winner in the Jocelyn Bourassa Golf Series.

Susan rounded out a great year with a 4th place finish in the City & District Championship, an 8th place finish in the Ottawa Citizen Amateur Golf Championship and a tie for 2nd at the OVGA Tournament of Club Champions.
