Typical of every golf off-season, there are plenty of job shifts happening in Eastern Ontario these days.
A few weeks ago we brought you news of General Manager changes at Carleton Golf & Yacht Club and Camelot Golf & Country Club. This week we have some additional news in the General Manager ranks.
Greig Burnie, who has spent the last four years at the Arnprior Golf & Country Club as the General Manager and General Manager, has parted ways with the club. He has taken on the role of Head Professional and General Manager at the Glen Mar Golf & Country Club in Ashton, just west of Ottawa.
In the meantime the Arnprior Golf Club has started their search for a replacement, posting the notice of the position with the PGA of Canada.
Carleton Golf & Yacht Club does not have a new GM yet but they have hired a new Clubhouse Manager. James Henderson was named to the role on Friday. Henderson, the son of Ottawa Valley Golf Association administrator Rick Henderson, will head all Food & Beverage Operations for the club. He comes from his most recent position at the renowned Stella Osteria Italian Restaurant and formerly worked at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club.
We always have word of another club hiring a new Director of Golf Operations/GM but the contract is still under review so will wait to share that when the logistics are complete.
There is no word yet from the National Capital Commission about the fate of the PineView Municipal Golf Course. The NCC has been reviewing requests for proposals from patties looking to take over the lease at the club from the City of Ottawa. A decision was expected as early as Monday. We have indications that we will hear shortly about whether a successful bidder has been identified. Among those bidding for the operations contract was the Ottawa Athletic Club.
