The 2015 Dixie Amateur was looking like it would be another fine showing for Ottawa’s Grace St-Germain. Then the final round arrived.
Like many others, the Team Canada Development Squad member fought her way to a high number on Saturday, the final day of the 72 hole event held in Coral Springs, Florida. Only two players among an elite field managed to break par in the last round.
St-Germain, a 17 year-old member of the Camelot Golf & Country Club, had posted rounds of 72, 75, 72 over the opening 54 holes. What was a promising week was capped with a final round 87 to leave her at a 305 total.
That proved to be 24 strokes back of winner, Lauren Stephenson of the United States.
