It is not news that golfers and skin cancer are a pairing that is all too common.  Failure to use adequate sun protection (sun block) while being exposed to harmful UV rays for long periods is a real issue and people, including, many golfers are paying for it. Literally with their lives.

While generations of golfers did not grow up with the education about the damage sun can cause or the means to actually do something about it, today’s youth do not have that excuse.

That’s why a new marketing/education campaign by Nivea looks so promising. The company has create dolls that “suffers” from a sun burn if exposed to UV rays without wearing sun block.

Yes, we’re talking about dolls but it has the potential for so much more than that.

The campaign is targeted at kids and parents but maybe they can add another demographic – golfers.

Wherever they take this campaign, more education about protecting yourself from harmful UV rays is never a bad thing.
