Brooke Henderson is making an equipment change. No, her relationship with her preferred golf club brand, is not ending, but her favored golf ball is.
Last week we might have (okay, we did) spot the removal of one Ms. Henderson from the website of her previous ball supplier, leaving her plans open to speculation.
There is no need to muse (or keep anything quiet) any more as TaylorMade has announced that they have entered in a multi-year agreement with the Canadian superstar.
Now 24 years-of-age and the #11 ranked player in the world, the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Champion from Smiths Falls, Ontario has not only agreed to play the TaylorMade golf ball but she will be wearing the company’s Tour Preferred Glove, as well.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Brooke to the TaylorMade family. Brooke is undoubtedly an incredible representative of the game of golf, already with several historical accomplishments at her young age that have inspired fans of golf across the world,” said TaylorMade Golf CEO David Abeles in a release. “Her decision to come to TaylorMade and play our TP5x golf ball reinforces our commitment to putting the highest performing golf ball in the hands of the best players across men’s and women’s tours.”
Henderson has chosen to play No. 7 on her new TP5x golf balls, reportedly in honour of her sister Brittany, who is starting her 7th year as Brooke’s caddy.
“Right away the TP5x performed at a high level. I gained yardage off the tee, which is huge for me, while I still was able to have the right amount of spin and great feel around the greens,” shared Henderson. “I also noticed that my iron shots were piercing through windy conditions and holding the line very well. It was really eye opening and I am beyond excited to put the TP5x in play this season.”
She will be using the taylorMade golf ball and glove this week in Florida as she gets her 2022 campaign underway, and attempts to win her 11th LPGA Tour title.
