Since the TaylorMade AeroBurner driver was launched in January it was has been an instant success. In fact, on the PGA TOUR the product line is already making up approximately half the metal wood products being built on the TaylorMade Tour Support Truck according to staffers we spoke to at the Northern Trust Open.

Now the company is expanding the line-up for all golfers with the introduction of the AeroBurner Mini Driver, the AeroBurner Irons, and a golf ball that comes in two models.

The Mini Driver is likely to draw the most attention for its hybrid capabilities.

The Big (Little) Stick

At 253cc and with a 43.5” shaft, the AeroBurner Mini Driver is targeted at the player who loves to hit their 3 wood off the tee.  In fact, it’s two clubs in one, acting as a driver or a fairway three wood that boosts confidence with its fuller profile.

The is the second go at the Mini Driver for the company, who first offered it in their SLDR line.  This updated model adds in all the features of the AeroBurner metal woods with aerodynamic shape, shallow face, raised centre crown and incorporating a hosel fin.  All this is an effort to maximize clubbed speed.

Throw in a large Speed Pocket and a forward CG design and you have a club intended to help the golfer achieve as much distance as possible.

A TP model is also available. It features a longer hosel, flatter lie angle and more open face angle.

“The SLDR Mini Driver captivated golfers on all skill levels by delivering better 3-wood performance from the tee,” said Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s Senior Director of Metalwood Creation. “With AeroBurner, we’ve now designed a metalwood that delivers even more speed and forgiveness to this new, popular club type.”
