The company has been the king of the driver market for some time but TaylorMade Golf’s competition is getting more heated than ever. Their response? The new R15 driver (s).
The latest model from the California club maker takes much of the technology developed in their previous models and refines it even more.
Set to be available at retail on January 9th, the R15 will have plenty of options, including a 460cc and a 430cc model. The 460cc version will also be available in gloss black finish while the standard finish is the familiar TaylorMade satin white which is returning to the fold.
Four lofts – 9.5°, 10.5°, 12° and 14° aid fitting, beyond the many adjustable features of the club – which are numerous.
The new key feature is the “Front Track” system. The track contains two sliding spit weights of 12.5 grams each for a massive 25g total. Golfers can adjust these weights to aid shot shape preference.
Further adjustment is provided by the most adjustable loft-sleeve the company has offered to the public. 12 settings allows adjustment of the lie and loft/face angle within a 4° range.
“R15 harnesses our world-class portfolio of technological advancements engineered over the last15 years,” said Brian Bazzel, Senior Director of Product Creation for Metalwoods. “It performs incredibly in a package that looks great, sounds great and can be easily fitted to any player. Everything we know about the metalwood, we’ve put into R15; golfers will see that, feel it and sense it with every swing. It’s a special driver.”
