Big Shake-Ups On The Slammer Tour

There was plenty od action at the top of the ranking this past week on the Ottawa-Gatineau Slammer Tour.

After weeks of domination the  Tour now has a new number one ranked player.  Craig Domville was within reach of the all-time record but was finally stopped by David McBain in a match at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club.

Unfortunately for McBain as fast he gained the title he lost out to Andy Rajhathy at Smuggler’s Glen.

But did that give Rajhathy the top spot?  Just overnight as the very next day an epic battle between the Smuggler’s Glen host professional and Golf-O-Max owner Dru Lafave changed everything while demoting Rajhathy to #3.

Despite a strong start Smuggler’s Glen Director of Golf Doug Wark could not hold off Lafave in their match and lost by the slimmest of margins, putting Lafave in the #1 spot on the tour.  All was not lost for Wark who gained the #2 ranking as the result of his participation.

Word is that there was plenty of good natured sparring between Lafave and Wark afterward and that a rematch will likely take place this winter at Lafave’s Golf-O-Max.
