There are plenty of golfers still in contention but Matthieu Blouin of Royal Quebec Golf Club has the early lead in the Ottawa Valley Golf Association Alexander of Tunis Championship. In the opening round Sunday the 23 year-old posted a score of 69 at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec. That score was one better than a pack of golfers that includes 18 year-old Patrick Goodhue of the Ottawa Hunt Club.
Goodhue was in a group that also included Peter Malo, Charles Cote, and Louis Alexandre Pitre.
Lurking no far back in a tie for 9th is two-time Tunis Champion Chris McCuiag of the Ottawa Hunt Club who opened with 72.
Notables Dwight Reinhart of Renfrew, the 2010 OVGA Match Play Champion, and 2010 Quebec Match Play Champion Marc-Etienne Bussieres of Royal Ottawa, both opened at 74.
The complete leaderboard is here.
The final round conclude Monday, July 5th and we will provide updates as we receive them.
