The Blue Heron Golf Club in Lanark, Ontario added a new splash of colour on August 16th thanks to a great initiative and a supportive group of golfers.

Co-Owner Joan Sobil says they had 60 ladies show up on the big day for their Golf Fore The Cure Tournament, an event supported by Golf Canada.

The group raised some $8000 on the day, which will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, specifically for the Breast Cancer Care and Research.

The participants also donated 58 pink bras.  half of those will be given to the Lanark Country Interval House while the remainder will be donated to the Perth Salvation Army to support their valuable community programs.

Sobil adds, ” Our low score winners were June Carnrite, June Taylor, Randi Fawcett and Carolyn Jopling, but really everyone was a winner!!  We had a great day, perfect weather, great camaraderie and a whole lot of Pink.”
