Languishing in 51st place after round one of the LPGA Drive On Championship. and facing an event with only three rounds, Brooke Henderson needed to make a move on Friday. She did just that.
The ten-time LPGA tournament winner burst up the leaderboard courtesy of a back nine charge. Staring the round on the back side at Crown Colony Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida, the 24 year-old Canadian was one over par for the day through 8 holes.
The next ten holes, however, were a different story. Henderson tapped the course for six birdies in that stretch, to finish the day with a 67 (-5).
Now -6 overall she’ll need another big day on Saturday for a chance at a victory.
She spoke after round two about her play and how she is starting to figure the golf course out.
