Brown Bests Field At Greyhawk

The junior golf season for the Ottawa Valley Golf Association got underway this past Saturday, June 2nd, at the Greyhawk Golf Club in Cumberland, Ontario.  The first Junior Field Day of the season saw a strong field of young players take to the Talon layout at the 36-hole Clublink facility.

Taking top spot on the day was Cooper Brown, the defending OVGA Junior Champion, who shot 72, even par.  Brown, who now plays out of the Renfrew Golf Club, had five birdies in the round but balanced those with a bogey and two double bogeys.

Finishing second to Brown in the Junior Boys category was Dallas Clancy of the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club who shot two over par, 74.

In the Boys’ Juvenile division the low finisher was Austin Evans of Rideau View Country Club whose 74 matched Clancy and also tied him for 2nd overall for the field.

James Parsons of the Mississippi Golf Club blitzed the thirteen and under Boys’ Division with an impressive 75, six strokes better than Jared Dandy of Hawkesbury Golf & Curling Club.

On the Girls’ side of the draw there were just three players in the field with Jany Martin of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club shooting the best score of 82.  Julia Malone of Rideau View Country Club was ten strokes back in second place with a 92.
