Marc-Etienne Bussieres has added yet another title to his illustrious resume. The 23 Gatineau golfer did his Royal Ottawa Golf Club and himself proud on Sunday as he defended the Quebec Men’s Match Play title he had won in 2009.
In winning today’s final match the 2009 Quebec Amateur Champions and recent graduate from the University of South Alabama dismissed Sebastien Lavasseur of Drummondville by a score of 5 and 3. Earlier in the day he needed 19 holes to prevail in a semi-final matchup with Jean-Philippe Paiement of Blainvillier.
In the Senior division Canadian Golf Hall of Fame member Graham Cooke used home course knowledge at Summerlea to his advantage in winning yet another Quebec Provincial title. He did so narrowly though as he won his final match over Richard Greer of Beaconsfield/Cornwall by a slim 1Up margin.
