Marc-Etienne Bussieres of Gatineau, Quebec got his professional career off to a solid start on Tuesday as the 24 year-old shot 69, 3 under par, in the opening round of an NGA Hooters Tour event in Florida.
The University of South Alabama graduate is tied for 12th place with four other golfers at the Hooters Tour Bridgestone Winter Series event, the 1st of 12 that will be played over the next three months. He is four strokes back of the leader, Major Manning, who fired a 65 at the Harmony Golf Preserve layout just outside Orlando.
This 54-hole event will conclude on Thursday with a top 40 players and ties cut coming Wednesday.

Ryan Kennedy of Kingston, Ontario is also currently playing a Hooters Tour event, one that is part of their Carolina Series. The Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduate shot 75 in his opening round on Tuesday and made the the 18-hole cut-line right on the number. The 54-hole tournament that is being played at the River Hills GC in Myrtle Beach, will conclude on Thursday.
Even at 3 over par Kennedy is not far off the pace in a tie for 15th place. Just two players broke par in the opening round, including the leader by 3 strokes, Joseph McLister, who shot 68.
