On Thursday, Gatineau, Quebec’s Marc-Etienne Bussieres was languishing in 108th place after round one of the Cherry Blossom Classic on the NGA/Hooters Tour. Two days later the young pro is a bit happier as he has moved into a tie for 18th place with one round to play in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Yesterday Bussieres carved up a 68 to make the 36-hole cut right on the number but today he made an even stronger move.
The Royal Ottawa Golf Club member burst up the board with a 67 on Saturday, putting him in position to earn a nice cheque on Sunday. That would be welcome as Bussieres has only made one cut in his last eight NGA/Hooters Tour events.
Hopefully this is a positive turning point for the talented young man.
